August Civic Long Weekend Bash

Our bash is held in a place called Poplar Dale.

Poplar Dale is actually shown on an Ontario road map. For those of you who have seen the bright lights of downtown Poplar Dale I am sure that will come as a surprise.

To get there take hwy 561 (aka 638) from Bruce Mines 27 km to Ophir. Leave the pavement immediately north of Ophir where 638 takes a hard left to Echo Bay. No, don’t go to Echo Bay, go straight through onto the 6 km of gravel to Poplar Dale.

You can access the site from Echo Bay for those of you coming from the USA route. Take hwy 638 30 km to the stop sign. Turn left. Take your time on the gravel, you are almost there.

No matter which way you come, watch for our famous pink pig signs. Whichever direction that pig is pointing is the way you are going.

Beach and bills

As we all know the bank machines spit out $20 bills. It would be appreciated if on your way north, you cracked a $20 at each gas stop and kept the small bills. This would result in bulk in your pockets, for sure, but our food and refreshment vendors would be pleased to handle that for you and the smaller bills would make change easier for us.

The Beach has an improved sandy area down by the water and there are some new deep pools as well.

If there is a fire ban on, we have a backup plan in the form of a franklin cast iron stove on concrete pads.

Admission is $20 a person for the weekend.

Tee Shirts are for sale

Bike games

Admission includes a pig on a bun roast for your Saturday night meal

It is back in the bush camping, fun and partying but if you want to come North and do it cheaper than just about anywhere else on a Civic long Weekend this is the place to be.

Once you attend our party once you want to come back year after year
